- 1. Inventory Management
- Evaluate and maintain inventory levels based on usage reports and analytics to minimize waste.
- Conduct monthly cycle counts and participate in annual inventory reviews for specialty and oncology areas.
- Manage ordering and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy in purchase orders and packing slips.
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors to ensure timely and complete medication deliveries.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) requirements for inventory transfers.
- Support drug recall processes by tracking, segregating, and returning recalled medications.
- Patient Assistance
- Assist patients in accessing specialty and oncology medications through internal and external assistance programs.
- Identify and qualify patients for assistance programs, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Work with social workers, case management, and clinical staff to support patient care and medication access.
- Ensures pharmaceutical assistance is maintained for the duration of the prescription for patients enrolled in the PAP.
- Identifies pharmaceutical assistance programs using third-party software and internet programs.
- Workflow Optimization
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to identify and implement process improvements.
- Maintain workload statistics, analyze workflow data, and assist with prior authorizations.
- Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Communication and Reporting
- Communicate regularly with pharmacy leadership, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory management, patient assistance programs, and operational metrics.
- Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.

- High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must be registered as a technician in the State of Alabama by the start date
- Must have a minimum of one-year experience in pharmacy practice. Three years’ experience in pharmacy practice is preferred.
- Must have national certification by PTCB or EXCPT
- Must maintain a minimum of pharmacy technician competency
- Experience in inventory and purchasing preferred
- Must complete Apexus 340B University on Demand within 3 months of hire.
