Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and products necessary for our operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of supply chain processes, and the ability to manage contracts effectively. The Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring that our company maintains quality standards while optimizing costs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure the best prices and quality.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues that arise.
- Utilize ERP systems for tracking purchases, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Implement production planning strategies to align procurement with operational needs.
- Perform root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions and develop strategies for improvement.
- Oversee quality management processes to ensure all purchased goods meet company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and finance to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement or buying roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of contract management principles and contract negotiation techniques.
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is advantageous.
- Experience with quality management practices and production planning methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in using Syteline, Epicor software for procurement processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis for informed decision-making.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
