Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Loader Operator to support our asphalt milling operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating a skid steer/loader in high-traffic construction zones and will play a vital role in the removal and cleanup of milled asphalt materials. This position requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate skid loader (Bobcat or similar) to remove and load milled asphalt into trucks.

• Assist with job site preparation and cleanup before, during, and after milling.

• Work closely with milling machine operators and ground crew to maintain a smooth operation.

• Transport materials such as asphalt grindings, dirt, or debris to appropriate locations on site.

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance to ensure proper functioning.

• Adhere to all safety procedures, traffic control regulations, and company policies.

• Assist in setting up and breaking down traffic control devices and signage.

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating skid steers, especially in a roadwork or asphalt environment.

• Knowledge of asphalt milling process is preferred.

• Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).

• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions.

• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in asphalt or road construction

• Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $30-$35 an hour
