Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Time Bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of our construction business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry, and be committed to maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting:
- Maintain and update the company’s general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process invoices, payments, and vendor statements in a timely manner.
- Oversee collections and ensure that client accounts are up to date.
- Payroll Administration:
- Calculate and process employee wages, including overtime, deductions, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely submission of payroll taxes.
- Job Costing & Budgeting:
- Track costs associated with construction projects (materials, labor, overhead) to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Assist in creating and managing job budgets, ensuring profitability.
- Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, and other necessary filings for the business.
- Coordinate with external accountants for quarterly reporting and audits.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide regular financial reports and performance metrics to senior management.
- Assist in the preparation of forecasts and business planning.
- Bank Reconciliations:
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accurate tracking of all financial transactions.
- Record Keeping & Documentation:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all financial documents, contracts, and other pertinent paperwork.
- Liaise with Project Managers:
- Communicate with project managers to review budgets, estimate costs, and track project expenses.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
