Individuals with the DCSD Behavior Technician (BT) credential are responsible for implementing behavior and / or intervention plans, to provide a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and to support Restorative Practices within the building. This advanced skill set is used to collaborate with DCSD staff in managing student behavior in escalated situations. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.Position Specific Information (if Applicable) : Responsibilities : Collaborate and consult with school team and other specialists.Model professionalism and collaboration with stakeholders. Model rapport building with student and positive reinforcing environment.May attend meetings (e.g., planning, IEP, team) and act with professionalism and collaboration.Assist with design and delivery of the introductory level of interventions and structures (e.g. visual schedules, work systems, basic reinforcement).Model and coach how to provide individualized support to the identified student in the form of direct intervention and instruction.May create supporting / guiding / prompting instructional materials, visuals, and resources for students.May provide advanced coaching and modeling with regard to more individualized behavioral techniques for school staff and student on behavior and / or intervention plans.Provide advanced modeling of plan fidelity to school teams.Provide modeling, coaching, and / or guidance to special education staff on implementing the skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plan.Implement skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the supervisor (does not design intervention or assessment plans).Collect student data in collaboration with specialist (e.g., ABC data, frequency data, preference assessments).Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.May perform duties designated by the supervisor that will be based on training, experience and competence.Obtain and maintain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification. Implement de-escalation strategies in accordance with CPI.May teach Professional Development courses.Demonstrate competency with research based interventions, including but not limited to Applied Behavior Analysis (e.g., antecedent interventions, reinforcement techniques).Certifications : Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Douglas County School District (DCSD)Education : High School or EquivalentSkills : Position Type : RegularPrimary Location : Acres Green ElementaryOne Year Only (Yes or No) : NoScheduled Hours Per Week : 35FTE : 0.88Approx Scheduled Days Per Year : 180 Work Days

  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE.
