This role involves supervising students, providing positive guidance, ensuring appropriate behavior, and assisting with any physical or emotional needs that may arise during the school day in accordance with AVA policy and procedures.Position Specific Information (if Applicable) : Specific Capabilities : 1. Supervise students during outdoor recess, lunchtime, and other break periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.2. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring students at all times, including in play areas and when transitioning between activities.3. Ensure that students follow school rules, interact respectfully, and resolve conflicts in a positive manner.4. Ensure that playground and outdoor equipment is safe for student use and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.5. Respond appropriately in case of accidents, injuries, or emergencies, following established school protocols.6. Provide positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior and address minor behavioral issues with fairness and consistency.Professionalism : 1. - Monitor individual and / or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, bus loading / unloading, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Perform general clerical tasks for the purpose of assisting teachers with instructional material.
- Report observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, appropriate and inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and / or administrative personnel.
- Mediate student conflicts to ensure a safe educational environment.
- Administer minor first aid for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
