Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling & Coordination: Plan, assign, manage, and coordinate security teams and team lead.
- Equipment Management: Assign and distribute necessary security equipment to team members.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential security risks to ensure proactive measures are in place.
- Incident Handling: Manage security incidents with a hands-off approach, adhering to established protocols.
- Protocol Compliance: Ensure all security protocols and post orders are followed meticulously.
- Timeclock Management: Oversee the proper and required use of the timeclock application by staff and team leaders.
- Incident Reporting: Report incidents to corporate as required.
- Uniform Compliance: Ensure staff is dressed in the approved uniform.
- Supervisory Duties: Perform various other security and supervisory tasks as needed.
Description:
The Security Event Manager will plan, coordinate and oversee the security operations and DDCues’ event staff and unarmed security officers at sporting events in the Albany, NY area. Most events take place at stadiums and arenas located in the UAlbany campus. The Security Event Manager will ensure that all staff maintain high situational awareness and a professional presence, acting as a deterrent and adhere to post orders and general instructions. The Security Event Manager will ensure that staff will not engage in physical confrontation with anyone unless to protect themselves or others from bodily harm.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in security management, preferably in large event settings.
- Strong leadership, communication and team coordination skills.
- Excellent risk assessment and incident management abilities.
- Familiarity with security protocols and timeclock applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with a calm demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead, oversee and manage teams of 10 to 150 individuals.
- Ability to control medium to large crowds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to write incident reports.
