DDI Vantage empowers vulnerable children, adults and families to reach their full potential. Serving the community since 1971, this non-profit organization offers Early Intervention, Early Head Start Home-based services and Child Care Partnerships, and Adult and Youth Services programs.
Position Description: The Coach Facilitator works to implement an integrative version of Practice-Based Coaching based on Circle of Security, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework for ages birth to five. The Coach Facilitator will support and promote positive adult-child interactions; sensory rich environments; age and developmentally appropriate activities and practices for children and their families in the home-based program. The Coach Facilitator will support the professional and personal development of Family Advocates in their work with children, their families, and their team, and will implement the DDI Vantage Strategic Coaching Plan to promote school readiness and high-quality learning as outlined in the HSPPS and the 2007 Head Start Act.
Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field from an accredited college or university. The successful applicant must pass a state and federal background screen, medical requirements, and a motor vehicle records check.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assesses all Family Advocates to identify strengths and areas of need in order to best analyze which staff would benefit most from intensive coaching using the tools that have been developed.
• Meets with each Family Advocate and Child Care Adviser at least once a month for a coaching session and provides support by researching new resources; observing Family Advocates at site activities and one-on-one at home visits; and by overseeing the new employee onboarding and training process.
• Uses Practice-based Coaching (PBC) that allows staff to be observed, assessed, receive feedback and have effective practices modeled for them. Implements COSP and completes training for both licenses within the first year of employment.
• Works with the EHS Program Coordinator, Assistant Program Coordinator, Facilitators and Family Advocate Leads to coordinate training, coaching, mentoring and support for Family Advocates.
• Guides the Development Team through planning and hosting the yearly Coaching Conference and provides training as needed at quarterly in-service meetings.
• Leads program Family Engagement efforts and oversees the Parent Committee.
• Maintains complete reports of observations, recommendations, and collection of assessment data for the annual self-assessment and reporting systems and presents data regarding coaching.
