MARKETING ANALYST - JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Marketing Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the marketing efforts within the organization. You will use the insights you find to help ddm and our clients make better business decisions – like increasing revenue or optimizing marketing campaigns. You will be responsible for collecting and interpreting research about market trends, customer experience, competitors’ activities, and marketing strategies for our company and our clients. Your duties include identifying target audiences, gathering web analytics, and providing actionable recommendations to drive toward determined KPIs.

Your primary function: Marketing Analyst

Your roles to support that function:
  • Compile and analyze marketing data
  • Provide actionable insights to drive client success
  • Build marketing dashboards
  • Provide regular reporting
  • Troubleshoot and maintain marketing data
  • Develop, own, and manage analytic and reporting processes
Specific duties and responsibilities to support your roles:
  • Analyze marketing metrics for effect/cause relationships between outcomes and marketing activities.
  • Help determine marketing KPIs and work with other internal departments to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on analytics for clients by understanding business goals and providing plans for consistent analysis and reporting of marketing data.
  • Scope, build, and maintain dashboards to visualize marketing performance.
  • Mine and analyze data to identify key trends, segments, and associations.
  • Identify potential testing opportunities to optimize marketing activities.
  • Effectively communicate performance and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work cross-departmentally to create a holistic view of marketing analytics for clients.
  • Manage data sources and troubleshoot to ensure data integrity.
  • Provide proactive solutions based on data analysis.
  • Support department teams with regular reporting needs such as monthly media campaign reporting.

Professional skills and qualifications needed for consideration:
  • 4 years of experience in marketing analytics
  • BA degree in relevant field, such as marketing, statistics, or business.
  • Strong experience with Google Analytics 4. Experience with Mixpanel and Google Tag Manager is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in data manipulation through Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in data visualization platforms such as Looker Studio, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools such as CRMs (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.), marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.), media platforms (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Hootsuite, etc.), and other tools (SEMRush, Monsido, Cision, etc.).
  • Understanding of data integrity, such as best practice for data structure, data hygiene, and attribution.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking, with the ability to analyze situations, evaluate information, and devise effective recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of business and marketing strategies, the customer journey, and marketing channels.
  • The ability to write and understand SQL and RegEx is a plus.
