What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at DDMS LLC?
We are in search of a new culinary genius! The Cook at Fern Park Developmental Center will prepare fabulous meals for our residents living in our homes. You will be a part of all food service functions to ensure all our resident dietary needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position will be full time, typically 10:30am to 7:00pm but may vary based on needs of the facility and will be a rotating schedule.
• Prepares and directs preparation of food items in accordance with menus, recipes, and diet plans.
• Use appropriate measurements and preparation instructions to deliver nutritious and appetizing meals, snacks, etc.
• Practices portion control to estimate food requirements to reduce waste and leftovers.
• Ensures menu compliance, only changing with supervisor approval, and recording changes on appropriate forms.
• Demonstrates proper storage, handling and preparation of food.
• Keeps work area clean and performs other cleaning duties as assigned on cleaning schedule including removal of trash and
garbage.
• Delivers trays to individual locations if necessary.
• Collects soiled trays and washes dishes maintain proper sanitary protocol.
• Assist with training new employees when needed.
• Monitor individuals and the surroundings for appropriate safety and health care practices. As well as reports any issues to
the appropriate assigned responsible parties.
• Notify immediate supervisors of concerns/issues regarding individuals, maintenance, and repairs.
• Attends and participates in team meetings, in-services, and competency-based trainings.
