Military/DOD Logistics Operations Representative
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Military/DOD Logistics Operations Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maximizing profitability by negotiating freight rates and sourcing carrier equipment to meet the needs of our military and DOD customers.
This position blends inside sales, account management, and relationship building into one impactful role. You will develop and maintain strong carrier partnerships, negotiate both spot and lane rates, and collaborate with customer sales teams to establish competitive sell rates for transactional opportunities and contractual RFPs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining carrier relationships to support profitable operations.
- Negotiating rates with carrier partners to maximize profitability.
- Supporting customer sales teams with pricing strategies for RFPs and contracts.
- Completing and managing tariffs, with expertise in Tariff Management.
- Utilizing and maintaining proficiency with GFM and SDDC systems.

Duties:
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts
- Act as the main point of contact for client inquiries, requests, and escalations
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts
- Collaborate with the sales team to achieve revenue targets
- Analyze client data to improve customer experience and increase retention
- Prepare reports on account status and sales forecasts
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities
Requirements:
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and shippers to facilitate the transportation of freight.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
- Coordinate the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Manage all aspects of the transportation process, including scheduling, tracking, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Utilize transportation management systems and other tools to optimize routing and minimize costs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and proactively communicating with clients and carriers.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to freight transactions and contracts.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
