How You Will Make a Difference
The material management handler manages the movement of all stock items that are required in all manufacturing business units, receiving deliveries into the warehouse, filling orders given to him by the different departments, and handling confidential information or finished goods. It is the material management handler’s responsibility to ensure the stable flow of materials in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking and unloading /loading deliveries safely in the correct defined areas
- Receiving security material deliveries in a safe and controlled manner
- Prepare raw materials in accordance to production schedule requirements
- Performing ‘cyclic counts’ and routine stock checks closing loop with data input on financial related reports.
- Proficient use of inventory management software to support in real time data
- Manage necessary documentation for the transportation of goods.
- Assisting with input onto the inventory management system.
- Maintain all electronic logs including inventory management system to support real time data and enable operations to proceed with their workflow for full traceability of materials.
- Work within a systemic delivery schedule to allow flow of material in specific intervals within all manufacturing processes throughout the business units
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using appropriate tools.
- Plate management in line with upgrades within the Currency and Authentication systems.
- Maintaining the storage area/s in a safe, clean and tidy condition, including the upkeep of the housekeeping of the staging area and loading bay.
- Equipment autonomous maintenance in line with the site TPM programme.
- Storing and recording of packed material for shipment.
- Make sure all equipment is in good working order / condition and adhere to all safety standard requirements
- Make sure to park equipment in appropriate locations and keep units charged (where required) for immediate use.
- Be able to weigh finished goods, submit data to shipping team and assist in the fast turnaround of material from finishing phase to delivery phase
- Support when required within department in necessary areas within the storage and handling of materials including general areas to ascertain correct product physical and digital record takes place
- In line with the 80 / 20 setup, 80% or more of e time will be dedicated to the above outlined functions
- To understand the principles and comply with practices of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement.
- To always act and behave in a way compliant with all De La Rue company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.

- O level standard of education, Maths & English would be preferred.

- Knowledge on safety practices
- Previous store keeping experience
- Fork Lift Truck License
