We are looking for individuals with experience as maintenance technicians
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Ensures breakdown repairs and maintenance are completed quickly and ensure that all safety & Security procedures are followed
- Before and after machine intervention, updates the machine status using available systems and informs maintenance supervisor of status.
- Work involves handling of 20kg loads and working at heights.
- Need to be trained and able to manoeuvre using equipment such as fork lifters, stackers and motorised/un-motorised elevated platforms.
- Needs to ensure all necessary permits to work are in place before and after working in a particular area.
- Ensure all Process quality controls and SOPs are followed together with scheduled TPM activities.
- Needs to be able to read and interpret schematic and general arrangement diagrams, including HVAC & other plant related equipment.
- Takes part in the installation of equipment and infrastructural systems.
- Completes work dockets and associated paperwork.
- To understand the principles and have the ability to repair/maintain plant equipment with special focus on: Compressed air, Blast/Vacuum, HVAC, Refrigeration units, RO Systems, Fire Fighting Systems, Electrical distribution systems.
- To ensure that all TPM & Certification schedules are maintained by planning and carrying out tasks required.
- To directly communicate with third party contractor/suppliers on specific tasks enabling better execution of works.
- To always act and behave in a way compliant with all De La Rue company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct

Knowledge, Skill and Experience
- MQF 5 level in mechanical engineering or higher
- Proven hands-on experience in Hydraulics, pneumatics, bench fitting and welding/cutting
- O level standard of education including English, Maltese and Maths.
- ECDL or good use of Microsoft office packages.
- Enemalta Licence A & B considered as an asset
- Experience on Plant Maintenance
- Experience in repairs & maintenance of Plant equipment

- Functional Knowledge - The role requires good knowledge of mechanical engineering, gained through experience as well as formal training
- Business Expertise - The role requires very little knowledge of the wider industry. Needs to understand the machinery, plant and services within the factory.
- Leadership & Motivation Skills - The role may provide some on the job training to new employees.
- Problem-solving - The role will be expected to solve mundane to complex problems involving machines and tools used throughout the factory. This would typically be through mechanical fault finding and might involve relaying feedback for further use of detailed analysis. They may be required to use some innovation in the way that they approach solutions.
- Nature of Impact - The role will have a direct impact through the quality of the repair and maintenance work they undertake
- Area of Impact - The role will have an impact across the maintenance team and will impact on other teams through the effectiveness of their solutions
- Interpersonal skills - The role will require good interpersonal skills as may need to exchange complex information to all Business units, On some occasions they will be expected to negotiate with local/foreign suppliers.
