The Junior Varsity (JV) Assistant Lacrosse Coach is responsible for implementing program-wide goals and objectives through positive coaching on and off the field. In addition to coaching the JV Lacrosse team daily during the season, the coach will have various administrative and support responsibilities. The season runs from early February through mid-May, but there will be occasional duties (attendance at departmental meetings, Open House, Freshman Welcome, etc.) throughout the offseason. The JV Assistant Coach will also support the Varsity staff as needed during the season.
In addition, the JV Assistant Lacrosse Coach will be focus on character development and guide student-athletes to achieve a high level of skill while fostering an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in lacrosse. This role requires thoughtfull and respectful interaction with student-athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents, and officials, in alignment with the mission of the school.
This position offers opportunity for advancement and the chance to take on progressively more responsibility. As a part of the De La Salle Athletics Staff, the Assistant Coach will also have the opportunity to operate Camps and Clinics throughout the year.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
A high level of playing and / or coaching experience is desired.
All coaches are required to get fingerprint clearance from the DOJ as well as TB clearance PRIOR to starting coaching. They have 30 days to complete all required certifications, including, but not limited to, CPR / First Aid certification, CIF - Fundamentals of Coaching Certification, Concussion Training, and Anti-Harassment Training.
