The school seeks a candidate who can promote the school's Lasallian Catholic mission of serving students and can promote the school's core values of faith, integrity, and scholarship. The ideal candidate will be able to teach US History and World History, with an interest in and aptitude for teaching in other Social Studies subjects as needed. PRIMARY ROLE
- Maintains open, helping relationships with students. Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
- Works with and teaches the established and approved curriculum in Social Studies and contributes to its development.
- Effectively manages instructional time and student behavior.
- Ensures that student growth and achievement are continuous and appropriate for age group and subject area.
- Assumes responsibility for meeting his / her course goals and expected school-wide learning results.
- Attends and participates in department meetings, professional development programs, as well as actively and continually participates in the co-curricular life of the school.
- Works collaboratively and cooperatively with faculty, staff, administration, and parents.
- Demonstrates evidence of commitment to a vision for 21st-century teaching and learning and the ability to bring such a commitment to service on a daily basis.
- Believes in the work of Lasallian Catholic education and shows evidence of developing the whole person through activities that help students grow in mind, body, soul, and spirit.
- Has the skills to work with a variety of student needs and to serve multiple learning styles.
- Uses school-based technology well, embraces effective practices in the chosen field of teaching / service, demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and spoken, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academic Life.

Our current step and column teacher salary scale ranges from $65,520 - $113,400, based on education and experience.
