Job Description
Part-time nurse working dispensing medication in a medication-assisted substance use disorder treatment. Saturday morning hours from 5:45 – 8:30 AM and occasional Sunday and Holiday work for a maximum of 15 minutes each Sunday or Holiday worked for which we reimburse for one hour. While not required to do so, nurses in this position may occasionally be asked to fill in for our full-time nurse in times of illness or vacation. Preference will be given to applicants who have this flexibility.
Responsibilities
Administer medication to individuals who are undergoing medication-assisted treatment. Must meticulously track all medications stored and administered by the clinic. Must also be able to help assess whether someone is too impaired to receive medication and must be able to have strong boundaries and stand firm on these decisions. Must be capable of being warm and welcoming to patients, while being firm in enforcing unpopular rules as needed. The nurse is supported by a strong team of administrative employees, personnel, pharmacists, and doctors. Must keep precise nursing records, along with tracking of medication.
Qualifications
Must possess at least an LPN license. Must be able to pass a state and federal criminal background check with no past felonies or significant/recent misdemeanors. Must be capable of operating basic Windows-based software, of keeping meticulous records, including tracking of schedule 2 and 3 medications. Must have strong basic math skills. Must be very reliable and punctual, especially in light of the early morning hours. Must be capable of working and coordinating with a team.
