Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the hospital complex, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Plant Operations, to complete assigned tasks, to assist other tradesmen and other workmen in completing their tasks; repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, and physical structures of the buildings. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Minimum 5 year's experience and currently working in the trade. Able to read blueprints and problem solve. Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc. Tasks Perform routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems in accordance with industry standards and guidelines. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and interruptions. Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute HVAC system upgrades, replacement, and installations while minimizing disruptions to daily operations. Inspects and operates refrigeration equipment, air conditioners. Performs maintenance on all ice machines. Coordinate contractors as needed. Recommends equipment replacement as PMs are completed. Performs maintenance, repairs and installation of all refrigeration equipment and air conditioning units throughout the hospital facility. Maintains and repairs HVAC equipment: fan motors, coil cleanings, filter changing, lubricating moving parts, electrical connections, thermostats, gauges, pressure cutouts, etc. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions in refrigeration equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Participate in on call duty’s. Be a member of the snow removal team. Respond to emergency calls promptly and efficiently, prioritizing critical situations that may impacts patient care or safety. Adheres to applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures. Documentation and Requisitioning Monitor and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including equipment inspections/logs, repairs, requisitions and replacement parts inventory. Completes preventive maintenance forms. Recommends and accurately calculates the quantity of materials needed and prepares/submits requisitions in a timely manner. Personal Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety regulation, infection control protocols, and environmental standards when performing HVAC maintenance and repairs. Able to locate and demonstrate appropriate use of safety equipment: Ear plugs Eye shield Gloves Masks Utilizes good body mechanics when lifting, pushing or pulling objects.
