Employment Type: Full time Shift: Evening Shift Description: Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for experienced Full-time Sterile Processing Technicians to join our Surgical Services team! Employment Type: Full-time Shift Full-time, Monday – Friday (1:00 pm - 9:30 pm) / Weekend coverage as needed Job Description Summary: The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of supplies needed in the operating room, inpatient floors, and all ancillary departments. Some responsibilities include biological and chemical monitoring; picking cases for OR procedures; assembly of OR instrument trays; operating equipment such as ultrasonic washer, and steam sterilizers, and perform other duties as assigned by director. Responsibilities include: Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with decontamination policies, procedures, and practices. Demonstrates knowledge of all steam and gas (ETO) sterilization policies, procedures, and practices. Maintains a neat, clean environment. Handles surgical instrumentation with care and is cognizant of the use and care needed. Demonstrates knowledge of care and use of fiber optic scopes. Demonstrates knowledge of care and use of all department equipment, i.e., ultrasonic machine, ETO machine, steam sterilizer, gas sterilizer, aerator, etc. Minimum Qualifications: Previous paid experience as a Sterile Processing Tech highly desired. Knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and monitoring. Knowledge of decontamination techniques and monitoring.
