What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Ironworker Field Foreman position at DE Steel, Inc.?
Field Foreman= must have clean driving record. Minimum 2 years experience running crews. Must be able to read and comprehend drawings. Must know how to operate an eye level. Must have experience with cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Must be punctual and dependable. This position requires you to be a certified welder. Must have a clean back ground to work on military base's. Must be a certified rigger. This position includes a company work truck and much more. Main Job responsibility is to run your crew efficiently, meet jobsite schedule, erect buildings.
- Bolt-up structural member following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
- Ability to weld 3G and 4G
- Run crews on jobsites
- Rig structural-steel members to hoist cables, using chains, or cables.
- Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural-steel members.
- Detail Work: may include installing angle and bent plate, welding clips, joists, tube steel or angle kickers; installing safety cable and safety posts; or shaking out and spreading joists and long spans.
- Assembling: Plumbing of structural steel; installing deck; installing and welding steel stairs, handrail and guardrail.
- Field fabrication or assembly of metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, and girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Use all safety and personal protective equipment for the purpose intended. Use of safety harness and lanyard for proper tie off.
- Operate boom lift and scissor lift.
- Pull, push, or pry structural-steel members into approximate positions for bolting into place.
- Walk/stand on girders or other structural-steel members to position them or use rope to guide them into position.
- Assist in work area layout, assembly and installation of structural steel. May include taking measurements, assisting with setting up rigging, unloading and shake out of material. Helper level 2 and 3 may do more progressive tasks i.e. bolt-up, detail work, laying deck, fastening structural steel members, etc.
- Install safety line and posts.
- Clean work area and assist in keeping it safe.
- Fire watch or other spotter duties.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
