VAN DRIVER/ ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT
This position is responsible for Driving the Rockridge vehicles and buses, in-order-to transport our residents to various locations, during the day. Our residents travel to several special events and run various errands throughout the day, as well. When not driving, will assist with activities when and where needed.
This is a Part Time position, sitting around 8 hrs/week
Rate: $18/hourly
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Drives residents to various locations on a regular schedule
- Drives Residents to activities as assigned. Activity trips are listed in advance in our monthly calendar and are normally day trips, leaving and returning in the same day. e.g. Boston, New Hampshire, Western Massachusetts
- Drives Residents to medical appointments
- Maintain vans: gas, cleanliness. Reports any problems with either vehicle or buses to your supervisor
- Respect each resident’s rights and conduct business relationships with residents, contractors, vendors, and the public in an ethical manner.
- Driver should be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Keep the work and resident areas free of hazardous objects that could result in falls or other injuries. Report unsafe conditions to supervisor. Always conduct him/her self in a manner that contributes to a safe and healthful environment for both residents and employees. Use bus lift for wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs
- Drivers should be on duty in full uniform. Drivers should also be shaved and clean-cut while on duty
Qualifications and License Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Drivers License
- Must have computer skills to access the company’s Portal, accomplish tasks such as work orders and away forms, communicate effectively with residents and co-workers, and assist residents as needed
- Must have ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff in English both written and verbal
