Job Overview:
The Clerical Associate (CA) coordinates daily unit functioning to assist RN, physician, ancillary and support staff to provide high quality patient care. They also provide superior service to all internal and external customers. The CA must be able to demonstrate the proper use of communication devices to carry out unit functioning. The ability to communicate technical and regulatory requirements to key stakeholder groups, including patient and family, accurately and in a service-oriented manner is required.
Unit Description:
The Stepdown unit is a 19 bed unit specializing in the care of the ICU Stepdown patient. This unit cares for complex medical surgical patients, cardiac patients, stroke patients, sepsis and other diagnoses including patients requiring closer monitoring. Our patient population offers a great variety of learning opportunities related to cardiac rhythms and EKG’s, medication drips requiring titration, bedside cardioversions, and NIH stroke scale. We welcome new and experienced staff and enjoy teaching. We promote a healthy work environment and have an active unit based shared governance. Teamwork is a priority on our busy unit as we strive to provide safe and high quality care for our patients.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
- Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
- Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Successfully completes Epic class as required by care center/unit.
