Job Overview:
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, and changing linens
- Helping patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers
- Monitoring and recording vital signs
- Documenting important information in patient charts
- Providing compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life

Unit Description:
The OB Unit at The Women’s Hospital specializes in routine and high risk obstetrical care for the patient, the newborn and the family. The obstetrical area is comprised of 28 private LDRP rooms, 10 antepartum rooms and 2 observation rooms. Our goal is to provide a safe and satisfying birth experience. We provide single room maternity care through labor and delivery and provide couplet care for the delivered patient and newborn. We also provide inpatient antepartum care and support for high-risk pregnancies through a multidisciplinary team based on the unique needs of the patient. Family-centered care is provided to support the emotional, physical and psychosocial needs of the childbearing family.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
- Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
- Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center/unit.
