What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Phlebotomist position at Deaconess?
This role involves collecting blood and other specimens, ensuring their proper labeling and handling, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture and other specimen collections procedure efficiently and safely.
- Collect and prepare blood, urine and other specimens according to organizational and laboratory standards.
- Work closely with healthcare providers and laboratory staff.
- Communicate effectively with peers, leads, supervisors, patients, nurses, doctors and family members.
- Maintain and stock phlebotomy tray.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Clean driving record for 2 years
- Valid driving license
- Ability to stand, sit or kneel
- Capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
