We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our Deaconess Illinois Medical Center team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and sterilizing the operating room, assisting surgeons and the surgical team, and monitoring patient safety throughout the surgery.
Main Responsibilities
- Setup and Preparation: Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, adhering to sterilization protocols.
- Collaboration with Surgeons: Work closely with surgeons and the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment and ensure effective communication.
- Patient Care: Monitor the sterile field, ensuring compliance with infection control standards and maintaining the safety and well-being of patients throughout the surgery.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and inventory of instruments and supplies.
- Post-Surgery Support: Assist in the clean-up of the operating room after surgery and ensure proper handling and disposal of surgical waste.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
