What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Territory Manager position at DEALERS TRUCK EQUIPMENT CO., LLC.?
Job Description
To maintain existing relationships, develop new ones and grow your defined territory. These relationships include truck dealerships (light and medium duty), end users, municipalities, leasing companies and fleets. This includes product demonstrations and training with customers, educating customers on new products and changes, quoting, writing specifications, making outside sales calls and communicating via phone/email/text/in person in a timely manner. You will have access to Chevrolet, GMC, Ram and Ford bailment chassis inventory at all the branches and will work directly with the branches as far as having the vehicle quoted and built according to customer’s specifications. In regards to the dealerships in your market, we expect you to learn their stocking needs and help them manage those needs through our bailment pools. You will do some of your own quoting but you will primarily work with the inside sales team to assist you with quote request. Signed quotes need to be detailed and complete with customer information, chassis information and body/equipment information when being turned in.
Also, throughout the year you might need to attend some trade shows or training sessions.
This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, Stephen Kneip.
- Expense reports with receipts are due weekly and will be paid promptly
- Sales calls reports need to be completed and turned in every Monday
Territory
Specified area within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, West Texas, Central Texas
You will be expected to efficiently and effectively plan out and work your whole geographic territory.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, administration, engineering, or other specialization is preferred. Relevant related work experience will be considered.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word.
High level of responsiveness to inquiries, requests, requirements, and suggestions.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a positive attitude.
Excellent and timely communication and writing skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and carry out tasks to completion.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
