Overview
Dean | Flour is seeking an Environmental Safety and Health Officer to oversee and act as a technical resource for determining Operations and Maintenance risk analysis.
Responsibilities
- Review contract safety specifications and incorporate requirements into the Accident Prevention Plan.
- Assist in developing project safety plans, budgets, safety supplies, training materials, and other associated costs.
- Review applicable regulatory requirements and address deficiencies noted in the current program.
- Develop site ESH training programs and demonstrate knowledge base of materials.
- Conduct inspections and audits, participating in field inspections and meetings to facilitate communication of inspection results and corrective actions.
- Participate in safety briefings with personnel on project to confirm understanding of Safety and Health requirements.
- Lead incident investigations when required.
- Stop work in Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health situations and review Recovery Plans before work can be resumed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Safety or similar degree required, with 8 years of experience or Master of Science degree with 6 years of experience.
- Significant experience in General industry required.
- Proficient use of Microsoft products.
- Attention to detail in completing work tasks.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and traverse by foot over smooth and rough terrain.
Desired Skills
- Environmental Experience highly desired.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
- NFPA 70E certification.
