The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering high-quality care to pediatric patients by assisting in the collection of patient and family data, performing clinical tasks, and supporting our healthcare team in providing exceptional care. This role requires accuracy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with both children and their families.
Job Duties :
- Assist in the collection of patient and family data, including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information in accordance with practice protocols.
- Accurately collect and document vital signs, BMI, height / weight, and the reason for the visit, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Update patient records to include any care received at other locations since the last visit.
- Accurately document current medications, allergies, and other relevant health information per practice protocols.
- Assist with the use and maintenance of pediatric-specific medical equipment, including thermometers, scales, sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, butterfly needles, and hearing / vision screening devices.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, including specimen collection and processing, and operating equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and hematology analyzers.
- Proficiently provide treatments such as nebulizer therapy, ear irrigation, and dressing changes as directed by providers.
- Support the healthcare team in patient assessments, exams, and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Provide administrative support in the clinic, including scheduling, filing, and maintaining office equipment.
