About Dearborn
Dearborn STEM Academy is a Boston Public School and BPE Teaching Academy serving grades 7-12 next school year. Our goal is for all Dearborn students to be prepared to enter a purposeful, wealth-building career six years after high school graduation and access the incredible STEM opportunities available here in Boston. Dearborn has a full-inclusion Emotional Impairment program and a Cape Verdean Creole SEI and SLIFE program.
As a Teaching Academy, our school serves as a training site for aspiring teachers participating in the Boston Teacher Residency and the Dudley Promise Corps, a neighborhood-based AmeriCorps service program. All community members work collaboratively to enact ambitious teaching and learning to meet student achievement goals.
Qualifications
- Dedication and commitment to the mission of Dearborn STEM Academy
- Valid teaching license in the relevant content area is required; additional licensure in special education and/or ELL is strongly preferred for all teachers
- SEI endorsement required
- Ability to collaborate with a team of educators to meet a wide range of student skills, abilities, and developmental levels
- Committed to using data and evidence to inform planning and instructional strategies
- Strong instructional skills; demonstrated mastery of and enthusiasm for subject matter
- Enthusiastic to reflect and grow (and help others to do the same) via coaching and feedback
- Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree
- Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
