QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate.
- Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must hold Arizona Special Education credentials.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience.
- Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

JOB GOAL
Provides resource, moral, technical and evaluative support for the inclusive classroom with the desired outcome that all K-12 students be successful in their educational and social endeavors. To assure that the classroom teacher feels genuinely supported in his/her efforts to promote student success and positive interdependence in the classroom.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs curricular and instructional methods that assist the classroom teacher to effectively include the student in all class activities.
- Designs curricular and instructional methods that promote positive interdependence among the students in class.
- Listens to and acts on the support needs identified by students, parents, and school staff.
- Assists in modifying instruction and/or adapting curriculum to meet the needs of all students, especially for students with at risk or with special needs.
- Works collaboratively with school staff to promote positive and open communication and support.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues and parents regarding students’ progress and/or school expectations.
- Provides in-services and training to school staff regarding Special Education such as the referral process, LRE, SIT/SAT role, learning strategies, modification/adaptation of curriculum, etc.
- Assists in the development and implementation of behavior management plans.
- Serves as a member of the School Intervention/School Appraisal Team.
- Assists in the identification and evaluation process of Special Education students according to state and federal guidelines.
- Assists in the development of Individualized Educational Plans and Individualized Transitional Plans.
12. Ensures the confidentiality of students.
- Maintains and ensures that student records are kept in compliance according to state and federal guidelines.
- Organizes and/or manages any additional supports and resources deemed necessary.
- Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Nine and one-half (9.5) months a year. The Governing Board will establish salary and work year.
Salary : $50,500 - $72,624
