SUMMARY:
- Assist the Child Nutrition Supervisor with the daily operations of lunchrooms.
REPORTS TO:
- Child Nutrition Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Confer with the Child Nutrition Supervisor and managers in the daily operation of lunchrooms, including assuming duties as necessary in the absence of any manager.
Supervise the serving of menus at all schools.
Maintain payroll for all employees.
Assist the Child Nutrition Supervisor in organizing and providing training and in-service for CNP employees. Train Child Nutrition staff as needed on areas including but not limited to production records, food safety, inventory, ordering, standardized recipes, and all other on-site CNP paperwork.
Review and submit individual school orders for produce, a la carte sales, food, and supplies.
Work with the Child Nutrition Supervisor to introduce and modify standardized recipes to comply with USDA guidelines.
Inspect school lunch facilities and operations to ensure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health, and safety are being maintained.
Input all nutrition information into nutrition analysis software and assist with POS software.
Maintain systems related to special dietary needs, the local wellness policy, and professional development for staff.
Assist in the preparation of specifications and bid conditions for all items required by law or board policy.
Assist in the processing of free and reduced applications.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or G.E.D is required.
At a minimum, three years of successful supervisory experience as a Child Nutrition Manager.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop, squat, climb stairs, crouch kneel, and balance.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, carry, lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

Outside the state of Alabama, we must have a letter (on school district letterhead) or public school district form showing beginning and ending dates stating your years of service and position held while employed
Credit is awarded for public school experience only, private, parochial, or similar experience will not be accepted
Experience must be full time at least 50%-100% of the academic year
Administrative credit will be awarded only for experience in the same position, i.e., principal for principal position as stated in the salary schedule
Transfer Sick Leave: If you have sick leave from another state school system or from another state of Alabama agency, you must have a Sick Leave Transfer form sent from your previous employer to our Human Resources department
