Summary:

The Staff Physical Therapist is responsible and accountable for providing physical therapy evaluation and treatment for patients of Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He or she may treat pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Staff Physical Therapist directs and supervises patients who are treated by physical therapy assistants and complies with all policies and procedures in the Physical Therapy Department and Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Job duties include: patient assessment, writing plans of treatment, administration of therapeutic exercise, use of modalities, supervision, and community/patient education.

Work Schedule:

May work 8 to 10-hour days between the hours of 7:30 am to 6 pm. Weekend coverage and holiday is also expected on a rotational basis. Must be able to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education
-
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree from a University or College with an accredited Physical Therapy Program.

Experience
-
One to two years related experience

Computer Skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

Certificates & Licenses

Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license and have a good driving record. Current State of Indiana license in Physical Therapy. BLS Certification also required.

Other Requirements

Twenty-two (22) hours of continuing competency activities are required each licensure renewal period. This position requires the ability to stand and walk frequently, use hands and fingers, squat, kneel or bend frequently, and lift or move more than 50 pounds.
