CNC Mill and/or Lathe Operator

Job Summary

Set up and operate 3, 4 & 5-axis CNC mill machines for the aerospace & defense industry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load programs and perform setups, inspect parts and verify following setup sheets, blueprints, and customer specifications, and internal work orders.
• Operate hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and computers.
• Operate powered machine tools such as vertical CNC mills, manual and CNC lathes, bandsaws, and other machining equipment.
• Complete machining tasks within a customer job.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines to consistently produce precision products.
• May be tasked with preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC mills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possess math and precision measurement skills and able to read machine drawings.
• Possess advanced knowledge of machining methods.
• Attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality.
• Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials.

Physical Demands

• This position is in a climate controlled environment.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
