JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The custodian maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are safe.

Essential Functions

• Keep facilities and manufacturing areas clean, neat, and in a safe working condition
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Clean, mop, wash, scrub floors
• Clean material spills
• Collect and dispose of all waste materials (trash, boxes, packaging, metal shavings, plastic parts, etc.)
• Barrel and hopper dumping (with hydraulic barrel dumper)
• Power washing
• Removal and cleaning of industrial floor mats
• Operate cleaning equipment as needed (floor scrubber, etc.)
• Light painting duties
• Forklift certified or willingness to be trained

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7am - 3:30pm. This position will require you to work 1 or 2 Saturdays a month for 4 hours.

Travel
Local travel between company facilities.

Required Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Education and Experience
1. 1 year of experience as a custodian in a manufacturing environment.
