- Experience writing, maintaining, budgeting, expenditures, reports and monthly billing in meeting expectations and deadlines of ABC Grant and PDG Grant preferred.
- COPA certified preferred.
- Experience with eSchool
- Experience working with the Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the social, emotional, behavioral, and educational development of each early childhood student preparing them to enter Decatur kindergarten.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, develop, and implement the total curricular and extra-curricular program of the Pre-K program.
- Plan and direct the in-service requirements of the pre-school teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Follow, communicate, and ensure all required DHS licensing requirements are maintained.
- Maintain standards for license renewal, submit requests for yearly renewals and ensure all sites are operating under a current DHS license.
- Visit classes frequently and serve as an instructional facilitator to provide individual help to teachers in ECERS, Conscious Discipline, Peer-Assisted Learning Strategies, licensing, and other pre-school curricular programs.
- Evaluate all pre-school classrooms according to ECERS guidelines and DHS licensing requirements.
- Evaluate all assigned Pre-K personnel in accordance with Better Beginnings guidelines and regulations.
- Establish and maintain good relationships between pupil-staff, school-community, school-central office, and administration-staff.
- Coordinate the District Pre-K program with all participating schools, principals, and agencies.
- Establish, publish, and maintain the policies, rules, and regulations of the Pre-K programs.
- Coordinate with Pulaski County Early Child Care Services to ensure the Special Education needs of all pre-school students are met.
- Attending pre-school student’s IEP meetings.
- Oversee Dial-4 screenings of DECATUR pre-school students and review data for further assignments.
- Perform all duties as outlined by DECATUR school board policies and/or Federal and State guidelines.
- Oversee that attendance records through e-School and COPA are submitted for accurate monthly billing.
- Maintain and report necessary pupil and staff personnel records.
- Maintain and report violations and self-report paperwork and documentation to Department of Human Services.
- Maintain proper discipline and promote principles of good citizenship using Conscious Discipline.
- Work with teachers to develop daily schedules for each classroom.
- Coordinate the implementation and supervision of Work Sampling, COPA and ECERS.
- Administer the financial affairs of the program and properly account for all funds in accordance with the guidelines of all related pre-school grants.
- Care for, account for and maintain the equipment of the ABC program at all locations.
- Develop and maintain a continuous assessment of the pre-school's instructional program in cooperation with other instructional personnel to ensure alignment and transition into Decatur kindergarten classes.
- Affirmatively implement the district desegregation plan and monitor the degree of effectiveness.
- Write the yearly renewal grants for the ABC pre-school program effectively and on time.
- Participate in all after school ABC Preschool planned parental involvement activities.
- Collaborate with building principals on hiring preschool faculty and staff.
- Submit yearly Certification of Inspections for Unsafe Children’s Products for each individual pre-school site.
- Work with the Northwest Arkansas Education Cooperative
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule
Length of Contract: 200 days per contract year pro-rated for 2025-2026

Performance of this job will be evaluated according to the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel in alignment with LEADS.
