- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Current Illinois State Teaching License
- Must be a member of building teaching staff
- Demonstrates organizational ability and skill in interpersonal relations
- Communicates effectively with all members of the school district and community
- Supervise the Student Council activities.
- Determine role of council officers and conduct election of council officers.
- Establish council goals on school pride, spirit, funds, and events.
- Encourage students to appreciate and value their classmates, school, and community.
- Encourage activities in support of school and community.
- Conduct council meetings to discuss ideas for the good of the school and to plan future meetings and events.
- Encourage council to present the students’ wishes and needs to the faculty and administration, and to increase students’ spirit and participation in their school.
- Work with council to develop budget for all activities and events.
- Help council plan fundraisers, school events, and other activities through coordination through building administration.
- All meetings are held outside the student attendance hours.
- Coordinates activities with building master schedule.
PURPOSE: Promote student leadership and contribute to school wide activities building spirit and pride within the school community.
TERMS:
Salary to be based upon Schedule B of collective negotiation bargaining.

This position is evaluated annually by the principal using the categories listed in the job description.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use repetitive hand motions, including prolonged use of a computer terminal. The employee is frequently required to sit, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
