What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Deceuninck North America?
Deceuninck North America is seeking a Cost Accountant for our Monroe, OH facility. This position will analyze cost assignments, ensuring projects are consistent with accepted cost accounting standards. Compares actual versus standard costs and generates variance reports. Develop and maintains metrics for major cost drivers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Capture and classify cost data to determine the cost associated with products/product lines, projects, or departments
- Produce daily production, variance, and ad hoc reports
- Review and analyze standard and actual costs for variances and prepare reports
- Update standard costs and ensure accuracy in the Bill of Materials (BOM’s)
- Prepare, analyze and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer, part number, and production jobs
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs
- Study and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor
- Responsible for account reconciliation of physical inventories and cycle counts
- Prepare periodic inventory reserves reconciliation, analyzing inventory for risk, and monitoring with support from internal stakeholders
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing by analyzing inventory and preparing supplemental reports as needed
Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years in manufacturing cost accounting experience.
- Experience applying U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment.
- Significant hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system; SAP is strongly preferred.
- Able to apply financial acumen skills: good understanding of the financial framework of the company and financial processes and metrics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting
- Success leveraging strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to achieve business results.
- Career experiences of working well within finance team, cross-functionally and cross-organizationally while also working well independently.
- Demonstrated ability of providing accurate, thorough, and timely analyses
- Proficiency in Excel, experience in manipulating large databases
- Ability to read, write and speak English
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar required.
- Certification and/or License – CPA is a differentiator.
