Opportunity Overview

We are currently seeking a Data Engineer for a W2 contract opportunity in Dearborn, MI. This role has the potential to extend over multiple years, with the chance to transition to a direct hire position with our client. Position Description

The successful candidate will design and develop ETL jobs for loading data into the data warehouse. You will also be working on optimizing operations to increase the use of automation to help improve the quality and reliability of the data transactions and interfaces.

Skills Required

• Responsible for an end-to-end solution for Data Integration to Data Acquisition to Data Warehousing, collaborating with software engineers and business partners on the requirements and design of the ETL jobs.
• Developing, testing, and implementing the ETL jobs and the pipelines for data management.
• Perform tuning of the ETL jobs as needed.
• Provide support for application performance issues.
• Responsible to understand the logic in DataStage on-premise ETL jobs and implement them in Informatica using APIs and GCP Cloud SQL.
• Responsible for converting data into informational insights to help the organization make data-driven decisions.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

Skills Preferred

• Designed and implemented a data warehouse solution using Google Cloud data engineering tools.
• Implemented automated CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and Udeploy.

Experience Required

• 5 years of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Solution (IICS) experience.
• Experience in optimizing data flow into data warehousing systems.
• Experience with Shell Scripting and GCP PostgreSQL.

Experience Preferred

• Datastage IBM Infosphere, SQL, Python.
• GCP BigQuery, Data Looker, Astronomer.

Education Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience.

Additional Information

• Original Duration: 18 Months
• Remote or Hybrid.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in conceptualizing and creating pipelines for data integration and cloud migration initiatives.
• Experience in data migration and synchronization across multiple production instances.
• Knowledge and working experience with interpreting and implementing security and controls at the application and data level, preferably for a S-OX application.
• Exposure in overall delivery cycle including requirement gathering, development, testing, debugging, deployment, documentation, production support.
• Flexible to work across teams and adaptive to learn new methodologies & technologies.
• Experience with Data Masking tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills including leading problem-solving teams.
• Self-starter: ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across the organization.
