About the Role
The goal of this role from the manager's perspective is to ensure Telecommunication / Client PM's are staying on track and being able to provide PM reports and updates to leadership. The candidate needs to understand networking and the "tech" speak. A PMP is not required; technical experience in data and networking technologies will be the key to success in this role. VITA has an immediate need for a professional to oversee the VSP Net project / transition from a legacy service to the VDN-managed platform with Telecommunication.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Data and Network Monitoring technologies, standards, and practices for management of the broadband circuit portfolio.
- Ability to assist with the Data Networking services lifecycle from strategic planning to operations and financials, from a broadband circuit perspective.
- Ability to perform Data Networking technology and operational assessments to oversee the Virginia State Police transition project.
- Project Management experience and the ability to track milestones / deliverables and report out to VITA leadership.
- Experience in managing general network technology projects.
- Understands best practices in service management including contract and vendor management in an outsourcing or shared service.
- Responsible for responding to and resolving agency and customer escalations.
