Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Configuration Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Configuration and Data Management (C&DM) and must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment. This role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed on time and in compliance with AS9100 and CMMI level processes/procedures.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and maintain Configuration Management planning documentation.
- Ensure configuration control of system designs and Technical Data Packages (TDP).
- Create and maintain baselines, including functional, physical, and product baselines.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawing practices to work products under format control.
- Establish and coordinate Configuration/Change Control Boards (CCBs) for hardware, managing and delivering engineering drawings, specifications, software, and design documentation.
- Coordinate and lead Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) and Change Control Boards (CCBs).
- Support customer reviews and audits as required.
- Collaborate with program offices, engineering, procurement and property team to manage hardware and software configurations and technical baselines, including design documentation, schematics/drawings, interface control documents (ICDs), and specifications.
- Lead the release, and management of Bills of Material (BOM), coordinating with procurement and property management teams.
- Provide Configuration Management status reporting.
- Propose and implement Configuration Management process improvements.
- Support the program office with distribution of task order deliverables.
- Assist with Property Management functions, including logging and tagging property and assisting with property audits and deliverables.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related technical field.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Configuration and Data Management, preferably in an aerospace or defense environment.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 and CMMI processes and procedures.
- Proven experience with Configuration Management tools and software.
- Excellent understanding of engineering drawing practices and documentation control.
- Experience leading Configuration/Change Control Boards (CCBs) and Engineering Review Boards (ERBs).
- Proficient in interpreting and applying complex engineering documentation and specifications.
- Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant CM software tools.
Special Skills Desired:
- Active TS/SCI.
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMPIC, CMII).
- Experience with government contract task orders and deliverables.
- Familiarity with Property Management and audit processes.
