Position Description:
The Technical Writer leads and coordinates writing projects, creating and refining complex technical documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications. The successful candidate will research, write, edit, and proofread technical data, ensuring it is accessible and meets established standards.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and revising documents prepared by others, coordinating the preparation of final products, and establishing style guidelines and templates for program documentation. The Technical Writer ensures all content aligns with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and meets client needs.
In addition, they create diagrams to illustrate program processes and workflows, collaborate with technical staff to translate complex information into clear, accessible language, and develop process documentation, reports, and presentations tailored to various audiences. They provide input to improve the quality and consistency of all documentation.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma
Experience Requirements:
- 6 years of relevant experience in technical writing or related field
Special Skills Desired:
- Excellent Word and PowerPoint skills
