Lead Training Specialist

Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking a Lead Training Specialist to join our team in Atlanta providing On-demand operational, technical, and scientific subject matter expertise support that addresses response-related requirements enabling CDC to rapidly expand its capacity to respond to public health emergencies.

The Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), with support of the Office of Readiness and Response (ORR), is actively working to enhance and augment CDC’s approach to preparedness and response for Public Health Emergencies which supports the development and implementation of the CDCReady Responder Program.

This is 100% onsite position. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design supplemental training and educational products and resources, as needed, supporting DEO programs/projects.
• Coordinates planning, timelines, and deliverables across responder education and training projects.
• Works closely with leadership and scientific staff to establish and monitor tasks as it relates to responder education and training to ensure training deliverables are met.
• Develop emergency response just-in-time training.
• Facilitate development of briefings to include updating training content and delivering materials.
• Manage and update SOPs, functional mailboxes and deployment liaison activities.
• Attend necessary meetings, conference calls, and briefings.
• Ensure that all relevant notes and reports are completed as needed.
• Provide pre-deployment and deployer data as requested.
• Develop and implement training and educational products by utilizing the best new approaches and technology for live and web-based training.
• Use cutting edge instructional technologies in the design and management of web-based training that is 508 compliant for CDC use.
• Facilitate coordination among internal CDC partners to identify opportunities for collaboration in amplifying response-related messages.
• Identify gaps in messaging to diverse audiences; coordinating and collaborating with appropriate internal and external partners to fill those gaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent. Emergency management staffing and or deployment experience preferred.
• 4 years’ experience an acceptable substitute for degree.
• Public Trust Clearnce.
• Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Mail).
• Ability to effectively communicate needs at all briefings to assist with operational strategy.
• Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
• Ability to multitask in emergency situations.
• Ability to be flexible with a strong sense of urgency.
• Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette.
• Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
