Decisive Point is an investment firm focused on critical technologies for defense, energy, and infrastructure.
Decisive Point is hiring a Bookkeeper to support the firm’s financial operations and ensure accurate record-keeping of financial transactions. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with accounting software, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Location: New York, New York (remote candidates will not be considered)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger entries to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Work with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial consultants as needed.
- Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in financial reporting and preparing financial statements.
- Knowledge of investment firms or financial services is a plus.
