The Opportunity: Staff Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architect to oversee the design and execution of residential outdoor living projects. This pivotal role will act as the key liaison between clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of structural integrity, design excellence, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with expertise in residential structural design, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for luxury outdoor spaces. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural design of high-end outdoor living spaces, including luxury decks, louvered roof structures, gourmet outdoor kitchens, and full backyard resorts.
• Draft, stamp, and approve construction documents for projects primarily in NJ, NY, CT, and PA.
• Manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with client visions.
• Ensure compliance with structural codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements across multiple states.
• Develop value-engineered solutions to optimize project designs while maintaining aesthetic and structural integrity.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to refine 3D renderings, animations, and construction documents.
• Guide and support clients through the zoning and permit application process, proactively addressing challenges.
• Provide technical expertise and on-site guidance during construction phases as needed.
• Manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and timely completion.

Qualifications:

> Registered or Licensed Architect in NJ, NY, CT, PA (or willingness to obtain reciprocal licensure).
> Expertise in structural design for outdoor living spaces, decks, and custom exterior structures.
> Deep understanding of residential structural codes, zoning laws, and construction methods.
> Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and approving construction documents.
> Strong ability to navigate permitting and zoning regulations.
> Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
> Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

> Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as RealTime Landscape Architect, SketchUp, or AutoCAD.
> Experience in permit applications and zoning approvals.
> Strong problem-solving abilities in high-end residential construction.
