POSITION SUMMARY:

Run the Expo line; call orders out to cooks, communicate and confirm allergies and irregular orders are safely and correctly executed, organize and garnish plates before they go out, make sure food is picked up and taken to table immediately.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Essential communicator between the kitchen and front of house staff.
• Responds appropriately to guest requests, communicate guest requests to kitchen and confirms requests are executed properly.
• Keeps expo area clean and organized: helps clear away dirty dishes, sanitize/set counter top and kitchen area, and if necessary, sweep or vacuum the surrounding floor in a professional and effective manner.
• Help servers bring food out to a table, restock utensils, napkins and other dining room needs
• Grooming of the entire restaurant and its perimeter
• Make sure supplies are refilled and prepared as needed.
• Communicate with FOH and BOH Managers throughout the shift.
• Stock and maintain adequate supplies; communicate with Managers on items running low.
• Greet guests. Ensure that each and every guest is treated in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
• Thank guests as they are leaving.
• Maintain personal health and sanitation standards based on health regulations.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• To follow all company/bar safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Strict adherence to health department and food handling guidelines
• To immediately report all suspicious occurrence and hazardous conditions
• Present a professional appearance and in uniform at all times

REQUIRED LICENSE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma
• Valid HI Food Handler’s Card
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays
• Must be able to speak, read and understand English
• Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

• Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, kitchen staff, and team members)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to accept constructive criticism and work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Guest service oriented and possesses commitment to quality service
• Have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, multi-tasker and organized

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to speak and hear, vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Constant walking with some standing
• Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
• Regularly required to use hands and frequent washing of hands.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Busy environment.
• Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
• The work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
