- The Role:A Coordinator will step in to fulfill the lead role in the absence of the lead.The purpose of a Distribution Center Coordinator is to oversee the staff, daily productivity, tasks, achieving the set goals/standards of the assigned department. An operation’s coordinator supports the Departments Supervisor in guiding the Department’s team to effectively and efficiently completing the Departments’ functions and communicates to management of issues/risks in the department. It is expected that a department coordinator shows exemplary patience when issues occur and be comfortable in providing crucial conversations and coaching associates regarding productivity or behavior issues as needed. Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, include but are not limited to: - Coordinators will conduct the start of shift huddle meeting to communicate relevant information to the team, set daily goals, engage in safety, workload, DC impacts, and to streamline communication between shifts.
- Production Floor presence: perform walkthroughs continuously throughout the day to monitor productivity and performance as well as ensure department safety and cleanliness.
- Coordinate and assign job responsibilities to all department personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
- Able to perform all Department functions
- Decision making.
- Emails are answered in a timely manner.
- Ensure the department headcount is sufficient to properly complete the estimated production for the shift and meet/exceed the SLAs/set goals for the department.
- Create and read reports regarding current workload, weekly productivity, Open orders and Service Levels. Update/sustain daily reports/logs/trackers. Run and read reports regarding incoming workload and prepare/plan ahead.
- Coordinate New associate training, cross training and evaluating based on employee’s hired position.
- Provide support by moving associates around after completing cross training.
- Ensure all team members take scheduled breaks or lunches as required and stay within the scheduled time frames.
- Tracking, monitoring and addressing associates’ performance, behavior, attendance and punctuality. Follow proper escalation procedures and corrective actions.
- Properly communicate with other Leads or Management on any issues, foresee issues that are/will be impactful to the DC; reach out for support when needed.
- Ensure all Equipment is reported in operating condition prior to start and ensure utilization is maximized, including RF guns, batteries, workstations, tape guns, conveyance, hand pallet jacks, etc. Provide the tools/equipment necessary to your staff members.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures and ensure all department personnel use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Coordinate safety training for department and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Ensure everyone is following policies and procedures; monitor and enforce SOP’s of all functions.
- Responsible for productivity tasks and to keep a steady workflow within the department and dependent departments.
- Maintain Department cleanliness and organization (5S, cleaning stations, Pallet Procedures)
- Maintain inventory accuracy by keeping locations cleared with 24 hours and properly researching and locating lost inventory.
- Revising, correcting, and approving temps’ hours reports on a timely manner.
- Ticket submission for system issues, DC Training requests, Work Orders.
- Track office and shipping supplies and submit accurate orders timely.
- Send out a pass down/turnover at the end of the shift including daily numbers, communication on issues, priorities and current/pending workload.
- Communicate progression and completion of order status assignments to leadership members on an ongoing base: Ensure all orders are fully replenished to meet department/DC Goals.

Education/Certifications:
- Degree: None
Work Experience:
-
2-4 years Leadership experience preferred
- Experience in a warehouse environment and knowledge of administrative tasks.
Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to run routine reports and write correspondence.
- Experience working effectively in complex organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
- Highly motivated, a team player, able to work under minimum supervision and self-starter.
- Innovative with people & processes.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

- WMS Knowledge preferred.
