Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- A Continuous Improvement: Analyze and develop plans to improve Operational Productivity, Improve SLAs and reduce Operating Expenses. Drive process standardization and optimization “inside the four walls” of Deckers distribution centers to ensure the success in meeting business objectives.
- B Project Management: Provide project and program management leadership across the capital planning, distribution and logistics functions, to deliver key performance enhancements, new operational functionality, and/or new material handling systems
- C Leadership, Solutioning, and Training: Partner with local DC and IT teams in the discovery of inefficiencies, capacity constraints or service impediments in daily operations. Enlist leadership support to enact changes across the network. Lead in solution development, cost benefit analysis, and implementation of distribution improvement programs, including training distribution teams to ensure plans are implemented and new solutions are operationalized. Maintain process flows, staffing plans, facility layouts, material handling system flows, training materials/SOPs, etc. as new processes and solutions are rolled out.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, operations analysis, logistics, supply chain or equivalent from an accredited institution
- MBA and PMP a plus
- 5-10 years in classical I.E. experience, in a Fulfillment/Distribution Center environment
- Significant experience in developing engineered standards(MOST)
- Proven skills in management of projects and cross-functional teams required
- Strong math and analytical skills required
- Strong operations knowledge of DC and related processes preferred. Work measurements, time studies, data collection experience for the development of engineered labor standards.
- Ability to develop specialized analytics, reports and communications within engineering and operational design
- Ability to develop complex and related specialized cost and operational forecasts
- Detailed orientated with strong organizational technical writing skills.
- PC experienced in a professional setting developing and using standard applications (e.g., AutoCad)
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and Warehouse Control Systems is required, knowledge of Highjump is a plus
- Knowledge of warehouse design, material handling equipment and storage media technologies, pick methodology, work measurement, labor management, slotting, and warehouse value added services (e.g., kitting and customer labeling)
- Functional Competencies:
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications; Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Capable of developing and delivering engineering reports and presentations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Highly intelligent, self-directing and self-confident leader
- Proven track record of success
- Demonstrated ability to expedite several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to use independent judgment in performing all duties of the position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to professionally and effectively interact with staff, colleagues and the executive management
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
