Aspire Rural Health Systems is seeking a full-time authorization specialist in our prior auth department. We are looking for those who have a great attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are constantly striving to provide the highest quality of services for our patients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Associates Degree and or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures at the level needed to perform responsibilities
- MA preferred
- Proficient knowledge of major health plans and insurance processes
- Ability to compute mathematical calculations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, professional and friendly demeanor
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for all aspects of the authorization/pre-certification process. Plans and organizes all outpatient testing. Coordinates pre-admit paperwork for all outpatient appointments, including pre-surg, to expedite patient flow, resulting in better customer service. Pre-registers patients, verifies patients’ insurance and determines patients’ financial responsibility (out-of-pocket costs). Responsibilities include educating patients about their insurance coverage and asking for payment.
