Deco-Chem Inc. is an ink manufacturing company. The person will be weighting paint, mix, milling and shipping the product. Have a clean and organized area for maximum proficiency. The primary focus is to perform all duties required in the production department under this job description using the ISO 9000 guidelines.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY (Essential Functions):
A. Milling (20%)
· Follow procedures regarding mills
· Clean tubs
· Sometimes weight ink if electronic eye can be used
B. Operations Helper (45%)
· Weight batch sheets per ISO
C. Shipping (25%)
· Prepares computerized shipping labels and shipping instructions for products shipped via UPS, Fed Ex and SBT PRO.
· Performs receiving and inventory functions of incoming raw materials.
· Completes paperwork and affixes proper labels for shipping of hazardous materials.
· Monitors inventory levels of materials on-hand and maintains computerized inventory records.
· Closes all batch tickets and reviews all batch tickets (provide initials)
OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY (Non-Essential Functions) (10%)
· Performs shop clean-up and general machine maintenance duties.
· Ensures proper disposal of waste for general plant cleanliness and for EPA/OSHA compliance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma or GED in general studies; vocational classes a plus.
· Minimum of two years experience in manufacturing supervision required.
· Certification in special shipping instructions (annual recertification).
· Experience in ink industry or other process operation preferred.
B. COMPETENCIES (Skills & Knowledge)

· Ability to plan and manage schedules and processes requiring basic organizational skills.
· Ability to read and understand MSDS sheets.
· Teambuilding skills that encourage participative problem-solving.
· Good interpersonal skills
· Verbal and written communication skills to enable your supervision to help you work to an excellent performance.
· Have an intermediate knowledge of computerized data bases, enabling updating of inventory control systems. The facility uses Windows operations and manufacturing software.

§ Personal computer, calculator, copier, fax and telephone.
D. PHYSICAL/SENSORY/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS
§ Ability to stand and walk 7-8 hours per day combined with sitting for up to one (1) hour per day.
§ Ability to operate computer key board and view computer screen for up to one (1) hour per day.
§ Cognitive and reasoning ability to do mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages for calculation of formula batch tickets).
§ Analytical ability to identify problem, determine causes, identify possible solutions, evaluate/select best solution and implement best one.
§ Ability to prioritize and plan tasks, requiring conceptual, estimating and sequencing skills.
§ Must be able to bend down, stoop, reach and stretch to reach above the head.
§ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
