Garden Associate - Plant Shack

The Plant Shack is looking to add a “plant person” to our crew in 2025! This is a full-time seasonal position with typical hours being 10am-7pm on our later days and every other Saturday and Sunday from April to November.

We need someone who will help us with the day-to-day garden center operations – maintain plant health and staying organized!

Responsibilities:

·         Water, prune, deadhead and trim all plants daily/as needed to maintain health

·         Monitor for signs of disease, pests, etc. and take appropriate action

·         Assist customers with questions and plant selection

·         Pull plants for landscaping jobs

·         Use Point of Sale for checking out customers

·         Maintain a clean work environment inside of the barn including garbage, dusting, and floors

·         Restocking and staging displays both inside and outside to keep area visually appealing

Qualifications & Skills:

·         Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, and landscaping.

·         Strong customer service and communication skills.

·         Ability to lift heavy bags of soil, mulch, and plants (typically up to 50 lbs).

·         Long periods of standing and walking.

·         Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

·         Previous experience in a garden center, nursery, or retail setting is a plus.

·         Willing to learn about different plant species and gardening techniques.
