Landscaping Foreman

Foreman at DeCook Landscaping is responsible for overseeing landscape installation, maintenance, and project completion. This role involves managing a crew, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high-quality standards, and maintaining equipment and safety protocols. This is a full-time seasonal position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of landscapers in daily tasks
• Read and interpret landscape blueprints, plans, and project specifications
• Coordinate the installation of softscape (plants, sod, trees) and hardscape (pavers, retaining walls, irrigation systems)
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
• Monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and management regarding project updates
• Train and mentor crew members to improve efficiency and skill level
• Handle materials ordering and inventory management
• Troubleshoot and resolve any on-site issues that arise
• Track and record all job expenses and hours worked accurately for each job

Requirements:

• 4 years of landscape experience, with leadership and supervisory experience preferred
• Familiar with landscape construction, plant care, irrigation systems, and equipment operation
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license & CDL

Physical Demands:

• Work with hand tools, power tools, small engine and heavy equipment
• Lift a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly through an entire work shift
• Work in a fast-paced work environment
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions performing manual labor
• Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work and overnight as needed for snow removal
